Alonso de Garay is a prominent Mexican architect who studied at the Universidad Anáhuac and later pursued a master's degree in Architecture and Urban Design at Columbia University in New York. During his time there, he worked for two years at the Foster+Partners firm. In 2013, he founded Taller ADG, his own architecture and interior design firm. It is distinguished by the architectural design expertise of Alonso de Garay and his concept of the workshop as a Renaissance ideal of work applied to the contemporary world.

Alfonso de Garay understands architecture as a continuous exploration, where each project is an opportunity to question and redefine the way we inhabit. His practice stems from a critical perspective of the environment and a sensitivity that acknowledges both the material and the intangible.

More than a style, his work focuses on processes: observation, experimentation, and construction precision that result in projects balanced between technique and emotion, always responding to their context and inhabitants.

His architecture is characterized by sobriety and clarity. Serene and reflective spaces that prioritize the human experience, proposing places where permanence and essence prevail over mere gesture.

On June 1, 2023, we immersed ourselves in the world of the ADG workshop, conceived by its founder, Alonso de Garay, as a space for learning and honing skills. Each project at ADG is approached with the dedication and passion inherent to the craft, always seeking prudence and excellence. With broad experience across various typologies and scales, ADG stands out for its interventions in architectural rescues and the reuse of buildings with artistic and patrimonial value. They also show a particular enthusiasm for the design of educational centers, stadiums, and public spaces. In the ADG workshop, the past comes to life in new forms, and the present is shaped with an eye toward the future, in a constant dialogue between history and innovation.
