Umana Residences is a private residential community located in Cerritos, Baja California Sur, conceived to integrate with the Pacific landscape and a lifestyle defined by wellness and calm. Surrounded by the desert, the ocean, and a cultural scene in constant growth, the project proposes a living experience connected to nature and the everyday rhythm of Baja California Sur.
The development brings together 12 low-density residences designed to maintain a constant relationship with the outdoors. Private gardens, terraces, patios, and open spaces allow natural light, air, and vegetation to become part of every residence, creating warm, quiet atmospheres closely tied to their surroundings.
Beyond the residential experience, Umana incorporates a hospitality and active living ecosystem connected to Umana Hotel, where wellness, recovery, and restorative experiences complement everyday life. The project proposes a way of inhabiting Cerritos where architecture and landscape coexist naturally
Umana’s architecture is rooted in a sensitive approach to the desert and coastal context of Cerritos, integrating open spaces, natural materials, and a constant relationship with the Pacific landscape.
Developed in collaboration with Chris Luce Arquitecto, the project reflects a vision based on spatial clarity, functionality, and an architectural approach shaped by intention and context. Its flexible and conscious perspective allows each space to respond naturally both to its surroundings and to the way each resident inhabits it.
Rather than imposing a fixed architectural language, Umana proposes a timeless architecture focused on creating comfortable, open spaces connected to the experience of living in Baja California Sur.
Cerritos is a meeting point between the desert and the ocean. Just minutes from Todos Santos, the area combines open beaches, arid vegetation, and a relaxed atmosphere that has turned this part of Baja California Sur into one of the region’s most promising and fast-growing destinations.
Life here unfolds between the movement of the ocean, morning surf sessions at Playa Los Cerritos, and a culinary and cultural scene that continues to grow in Todos Santos. The proximity to Playa San Pedrito and direct access to Federal Highway 19 create a seamless connection to the rest of the Pacific coast.
